As the Chief Financial Officer at BigCommerce, Robert Alvarez brings extensive experience in corporate finance, strategic planning and business transactions with both public and privately held, high-growth technology companies.
Since joining BigCommerce, Robert has been instrumental in transforming BigCommerce from a small business solution to a comprehensive, industry-leading ecommerce platform for mid-market retailers, large enterprise segments, and businesses of all sizes across 150 countries.

Overseeing all facets of financial and operational strategy, Robert has guided BigCommerce through its growth financing rounds with tier 1 institutional investors including General Catalyst, Revolution Growth, SoftBank, GGV Capital and Goldman Sachs.

Prior to BigCommerce, he led four high-growth, venture-backed startups through their exits, three of which were successfully acquired by large strategic public companies, with the fourth going public.
