Michael is a Managing Director in ICR’s Technology Group, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in the TMT sector, including senior level roles as a CFO, as well as sell-side and buy-side equity research. Over the course of his career, Michael’s experience has spanned the software, cloud services, internet infrastructure, and mobile/telecom sectors.
Prior to joining ICR, Mr. Bowen has been engaged by Newby Ventures to serve as CFO for one of its portfolio companies in the interconnection edge computing sector. Previously, Michael has served as a lead equity research analyst and capital markets advisor to more than 60 public and private technology companies. He has spent a career as a respected analyst, writing and speaking on a broad range of internet infrastructure, cloud infrastructure, and communications services topics and companies. Mr. Bowen’s sell-side career included firms such as Alex. Brown/Deutsche Bank, SoundView Technology group, and most recently Pacific Crest KeyBanc where he was a Managing Director in the firm’s enterprise software group. He also gained buy-side experience as a tech-focused analyst with Rhombus Capital and Guggenheim Partners.
Prior to his Wall Street career, Michael spent 7 years in operational roles at Hewlett Packard and General Electric, where he focused on finance operations, strategic acquisitions and business development initiatives. He attended the University of Maryland, where he obtained a B.S. in Finance as well as an M.B.A. with honors from the university’s Smith School of Business.
