Shawn Nelson is the founder and CEO of The Lovesac Company, one of the top 3 fastest growing furniture brands in the US for over a decade. Lovesac is publicly traded on Nasdaq, ticker “LOVE” and is projected to exceed 1 Billion in annual sales over the next few years. From humble beginnings, Shawn began making Sacs for neighbors and friends by hand, founding the company in 1998 while in college. He graduated from the University of Utah in 2001 in Mandarin Chinese before opening Lovesac’s first store in his hometown of Salt Lake City shortly after graduation.

By 2005 Lovesac Shawn won a million-dollar investment by Richard Branson on his prime time hit reality TV show, The Rebel Billionaire, and was named acting President of Virgin Worldwide for a time. Shawn later achieved his Master’s Degree in Strategic Design and Management Parsons, The New School for Design in New York and continued on as an instructor there for a few years as well teaching courses on Sustainable Business Models, Leadership and Innovation. Shawn now holds over 40 issued patents across multiple product categories with dozens more pending.

Much of Lovesac’s success today is owed to Shawn’s unique design philosophy, “Designed For Life”, demanding products that are built to last a lifetime and designed to evolve—products that actually sustain. This drives Lovesac’s strategy and underpins its continued success.
